The Edinburgh-based company, which was bought last January by Paris-listed technology firm Visiativ, said the dedicated service will help customers to write and submit grant applications. It will also offer advice on whether the projects will qualify for research and development (R&D) tax relief or other forms of funding for innovation.

Grants division leader Matusiak will be based in the company’s London office. He joined ABGI UK in October as grant funding manager from rival firm Leyton, where he spent two years as a grants specialist, having previously studied English literature and creative writing at Lancaster University.

Part of his remit will include offering advice to clients on whether they qualify for grants in other countries in which they operate. ABGI, Visiativ’s consulting division, secures more than £1 billion in tax credits and grant funding each year for clients including car maker Fiat, delivery firm Hermes, and American conglomerate General Electric.
